1st conference on control strategies for schistosomiasis in Madagascar (CCSM)

CCSM 2022 is the first Conference on control strategies for schistosomiasis in Madagascar (CCSM). It will take place on 21st October 2022 at the Hotel Carlton in the capital of Madagascar, Antananarivo and we will be honored for you to join!

The Bernhard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine has been doing research on bilharzia, in Madagascar for years. The neglected tropical disease remains a major public health problem in the country. Chronic long-term consequences, such as female genital schistosomiasis and liver fibrosis, can lead to high burden disabilities.

Research thrives on constant exchange, also internationally. With this first Malagasy conference on schistosomiasis, we aim to stimulate discussion among Malagasy stakeholders, scientists and policy makers on new strategies that can help control and manage schistosomiasis in the country. International experts will be invited to present the worldwide strategies and work together to identify adapted solutions for the country.
