Workshop on challenges to women’s health in Sub-Saharan Africa

The workshop looks at three key issues for women's health in the region:

• female genital schistosomiasis (a worm disease)
• cervical cancer and
• caesarean section

Furthermore, linking existing global health programs for HIV and AIDS and malaria with helminth control and vaccine programs will be a core issue to be explored during the workshop. The general objective of this workshop is to generate a blueprint which is adaptable and scalable for future global health activities within the sub-Saharan African region.
