Detailed description
Living immune cells are isolated, grown
in vitro and, if necessary, treated and then given to a patient.
T cells are especially promising candidates for adoptive immunotherapy as they can specifically recognize antigens and kill their
target cells. This is supposed to transfer a specific cellular immunity to the patient.
