To prevent the development and spread of antibiotic resistances, appropriate antibiotic prescriptions are needed. This refers to choice, dosage as well as way and duration of antibiotic use. Relevant strategies are coordinated in antibiotic stewardship (ABS) programs or antibiotic management systems.
