Long COVID
Short description
"Long COVID" describes longer-term health effects that persist after an acute infection with SARS-CoV-2 or that may recur between four and twelve weeks after the onset of infection.
Detailed description
The symptoms of Long COVID are varied and can be both physical and psychological, such as fatigue, shortness of breath, neurological problems or pain. The exact cause is still unclear, making diagnosis and treatment difficult. The term "post-COVID condition" or "post-COVID syndrome" is used when symptoms persist for at least 12 weeks after the acute infection or recur and cannot be otherwise explained.
