Detailed description

In contrary to standard therapies, which work for some patients but not for others, the goal of personalized medicine is a tailored therapy. On the one hand, living conditions and the patient’s gender are considered as they influence drug effect. On the other hand, DNA sequencing contributes to gaining additional information on the patient and the pathogen, which can be consulted for therapy decision.
