TBNET
TBNET, the Tuberculosis Network European Trials group, is a pan-European association of physicians and scientists aiming at promoting clinically-oriented tuberculosis research in Europe.
Detailed description
TBNET was founded in 2006. Today, it is the largest multinational research organization on tuberculosis. The current chair is held by Dr. Liga Kuksa from Riga in Latvia. The TBnet secretariat has its office at the Research Center Borstel - Leibniz Lungenzentrum, which is a member of the DZIF, and in Riga. TBNET serves as a platform for the planning, organization, coordination and evaluation of translational clinical tuberculosis studies in Europe. Further information can be found at www.tbnet.eu.
Professor Christoph Lange, Head of the Clinical Tuberculosis Center at the DZIF, is also a member of the TBnet Steering Committee and organizes the annual TBnet Academy.
