Centre de Recherche en Santé de Nouna (CRSN)
The "Centre de Recherche en Santé de Nouna" (CRSN) in Burkina Faso developed from a large public health research project starting in the late 1980s. Since 1999, the research centre has been an integral part of the health system in Burkina Faso. Since the early years, the CRSN has been closely collaborating with the "Heidelberg Institute for Global Health" at Heidelberg University Hospital. Joint projects focus on researching and treating malaria, HIV/AIDS and bacterial meningitis (a purulent meningitis that occurs frequently in countries in the Sahel region).
The centre is one of four African Partner Institutions with which DZIF scientists already have long-standing collaborations.
