In the research area Healthcare-Associated Infections, the Kliniken der Stadt Köln (Clinics of the City of Cologne) are involved in a pilot study on the spread of carbapenemase genes through mobile genetic elements. The study will comprehensively characterise carbapenem-resistant enterobacteria isolated from 2014 to 2019 in the Kliniken der Stadt Köln and at three other partner sites in Germany.
