The pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is the focus of a large tuberculosis screening project in which the University of Bayreuth is involved. The aim is to develop a preclinical model on the basis of which new active agents against tuberculosis can be identified and known and newly discovered active agents can be tested for effectiveness.
