Working group
Mathematical models and biostatistics
Short description
The research group “Mathematical models and biostatistics” supports scientists in the field of malaria research with bioinformatics methods. Their aim is to more accurately determine the courses of infection, the spread of pathogens and human immune responses. In addition, their studies provide data that can help differentiate between malaria and other febrile diseases. A further method being used is mathematical modelling whereby the data obtained can be used to portray the transmission dynamics of infections and the efficacy of control measures.
