RNA viruses
Short description
RNA viruses are viruses whose genetic material is ribonucleic acid. Ribonucleic acid is a macromolecule that plays a decisive role in the conversion of genetic information into proteins.
Detailed description
Besides RNA viruses, there are also DNA viruses whose genome is present in the form of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). The group of RNA viruses includes important pathogenic viruses such as measles, influenza or Ebola viruses.
