DNAMR
The "Deutsches Netzwerk gegen Antimikrobielle Resistenzen" (DNAMR; German Network against Antimicrobial Resistance), launched in 2022, is an association of organisations, institutions, companies, legal entities and individuals that are committed to the development of new, resistance-breaking antibiotics. These include the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF), the BEAM-Alliance (Biotech companies from Europe innovating Anti-Microbial resistance research), the Global AMR R&D Hub, the German Society for Infectiology (DGI; Deutsche Gesellschaft für Infektiologie) the Paul-Ehrlich-Gesellschaft für Infektionstherapie (PEG), the Verband forschender Pharma-Unternehmen (vfa) and the Center for Sepsis Control & Care (CSCC) at Jena University Hospital.
The DNAMR aims to raise awareness among German policymakers of the urgency of the issue of antimicrobial resistance, to motivate them to work together on suitable solutions and mechanisms for antibiotic development and to strengthen the entire economic system for researching and developing new antibiotics until they are ready for the market.
